Abaca fibre is primarily used in the production of high quality specialist pulps which are used in the production of a range of papers including food preparation papers – tea bags, filter papers and in medical filter papers. In addition to these end uses it is also used for some bank note paper, friction pad paper along with stencil papers. This list is by no means exhaustive as there are a large range of possible applications.
